Bulgarian Association for Development of Psychomotricity /BAPMT/ offers an opportunity for participation in a “Pre- and Perinatal Psychology. Prevention and Release of Birth Trauma.” basic training. The training contains theory in physiology and psychology of pregnancy and birth as well as scientific data. It is practice-oriented and provides tools which can be used and integrated in professional daily work.
The intention is to clarify the impact of early imprints during conception, pregnancy and birth for human beings. A deeper comprehension and empathy for pregnant women and unborn babies will arise. The possibilities of preventing early trauma will be shown and trained.
This training includes self-reflection and self-awareness of your own birth experience and eventually the experience of giving birth to your own children. This will be part in every module, because the theory will activate unconscious imprint. In these six modules we will recreate the own birth experience in a new, positive and healthy way with “Positive Birth Recreation“, a bodytherapy method developed by Ebba Boyesen.
Basically it will be important that you are open for self-reflection, self-awareness and meditations.
This training offers a mandatory foundation for 3 different types of follow-up trainings:
- Birth educator training – open to everyone after successful graduation of the basic training
- Birth psychotherapist training – open to psychotherapists after successful graduation of the basic training
- Training for birth medical professionals – open to obstetricians, gynaecologists, midwifes after successful graduation of the basic training
The offering of follow-up trainings for birth psychotherapists and for medical specialists depends to a great extent on the professional qualifications of the participants in the basic training.

This training aims:
- to provide basic knowledge and understanding of the topics of pre- and perinatal psychology and trauma;
- to distribute the knowledge of pre- and perinatal psychology supporting early child development and to offer prevention of pre- and perinatal trauma and its adverse impacts on human life
- to develop awareness and sensitivity to pre- and perinatal experiences and their impact on pregnant women, their unborn and newborn children, as well as to the living pre- and perinatal memory in each one of us.
- to support professionals working with families trying to concieve, pregnant women and women giving birth, newborns and children, to develop more understanding, empathy and confidence and to provide them pre- and perinatal trauma prevention tools that can be used and integrated into daily professional work.
- to create a professional community and network of professionals with sensitivity, awareness and ethics, informed by the knowledge of pre- and perinatal psychology.
Curriculum:
The basic training includes:
- 122 hours of in-person classes, divided into 5 modules x 18 hours and 1 module of 32 hours
- 18 hours of online training, divided into 6 meetings x 3 hours
- 2 supervisions (36 hours in total), spread over two weekends
- 2 individual sessions for personal development for each participant.

The training includes two supervisions in 2025, the dates of which are to be announced.
*The final module will be held in a location that allows participants to stay overnight together (with the option of a private room). In this regard, everyone will have to provide an additional budget for 3 overnight stays. This is a requirement from the teacher (Kola Bröner) for successfully completeing the body psychotherapeutic process POSITIVE BIRTH RECREATION.
Schedule:
The first five modules will be held on the following days and time:
Friday 1700 – 2100
Saturday 1000 – 1800
Sunday 1000 – 1630
The final sixth module will take place on four consecutive days from 1000 to 1800.
The times and days of all other meetings are going to be announced.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the training all participants will receive a certificate, supported by the following organisations:
Bulgarian Association for Development of Psychomotricity (BAPMT), ISPPM e.V., Istanbul Birth Academy
For this purpose, all the below mentioned requirements must be met:
- Participation in all activities – in person and online
- Writing a final thesis on a specific theme to this topic, which you can choose in agreement with the facilitator
- 10 protocols from exercise sessions with study groups*
- 2 private sessions with the facilitator for their own personal development (not included in price)
*Study groups
Participants will be encouraged to break into smaller groups where they can explore the material in depth by doing the exercises they have learned together, sharing their experiences and discussing. Meetings of study groups are held outside of training timetable and classroom. They are self-initiated by the participants and can be held at a time and place convenient for them, incl. online. Meetings are verified by protocols, which are part of the mandatory requirements for certification.
The aim of the study groups is to stimulate long-term cooperation between the participants, deepen the knowledge and integration of what has been learned.

*In case of high inflation rates and increase of flight tickets, rents and accommodation expenses BAPMT reserves the right to correct the fee price.
Tuition fee covers the costs of the training and the certificate. Travel and accommodation costs for participants are not included in price.
Deposit:
50 % of the tuition fee paid by February 01, 2024.
