BAPMT and Sindeo – Applied Education Academy are organizing a two-day workshop for teachers (11.09.2024 from 2 to 6 pm and 12.09.2024 from 2 pm to 6 pm) with teachers from the Pontifical Catholic University in Santiago de Chile, Chile.
● Purpose: In today’s society, the development of socio-emotional skills is increasingly recognized as key to overall well-being and success in various areas of life. To address this, innovative approaches such as psychomotor interventions have gained prominence, especially those that emphasize the experience of the body and play. By integrating physical activities with cognitive and emotional processes, these interventions offer unique opportunities to improve socio-emotional skills in people of all ages.
This workshop will review the theoretical foundations as well as some practical applications, and
potential benefits of such interventions, focusing on their importance in promoting integral personal development.
● Duration: 8 hours – two sessions over two days of 4 hours each
Session 1:
Theoretical Elements: (3 hrs.)
● Play from a psychomotor perspective.
● Socio-emotional intelligence and socio-emotional competencies from the perspective of different theoretical paradigms.
● Body language, tonic empathy, embodied cognition, communication skills and perceptions to promote the development of socio-emotional competencies.
Practical experience (1 hr):
● Body play experiences related to tonic empathy and communication skills.
Session 2:
Theoretical Elements: (1 hr.)
● Observation as intervention from the Psychomotor paradigm: which elements of play are key indicators for planning our interventions.
● Tonic and empathic resonance and body positioning during play intervention.
● The adult (therapist/teacher) in play scenarios: the different roles and perspectives that influence the experience.
● Materials and settings as triggers of the psychological and pedagogical goals of the intervention.
Practical experience (3 h)
● Bodily play experiences related to roles, tonic empathy, the symbolic world and subjective experience.
● Non-verbal expressive aspects of the therapeutic relationship.
● Exploration of materials and settings (from free play experiences to role play).
● Focus group
