We will learn how movement and play can be used to initiate interaction processes with children on the autism spectrum. The lector will give us ideas how a body-centred approach can be used to support children’s communication skills and promote language development through interactive games and activities. Areas of focus include: autism, ABA, psychomotricity, play, interaction and communication.
A German psychomotor therapist and trainer from dakp (German Association for Psychomotor Therapy) Franziska Litchko will present practical guidelines from her psychomotor work with children with autism in the next BAPMT lecture. She has extensive experience in a centre where psychomotor work is combined with ABA therapy. Licko will review cases, provide guidelines and draw parallels between ABA and Psychomotor as methods for a combined approach to working with autistic children.
